Corrosion and Chemical Resistant FRP Shell Construction

Our scrubber body is of FRP construction made of fiber mat material not the ordinary fibers to make it more durable and resist cracking. The inside of the body uses the most expensive VE (vinyl ester) FRP resin material making it more chemical resistant. We have scrubber units installed in harsh mining environment in Surigao and Palawan that is in operation for more than ten years with no reported problems.

A better engineered system will require additional properties that will increase its durability and performance for longer and more effective functionality. Buying a scrubber is like buying a car. Flanged Spray Headers Easily Removable from Outside the Unit

The flanged spray headers with union allow for its easy removal for cleaning and maintenance purposes. Some ordinary scrubbers have fixed headers and will require access inside the scrubber in order to clean the spray system.

Combination Chevron/Mesh Pad Mist Eliminator Sections

Most scrubbers only have one mist eliminator used for removal of mist prior to exiting the scrubber. For our HORIZONTAL CROSSFLOW FUME SCRUBBER, we have a frontal chevron mist eliminator that allows impingement of chemical mist BEFORE it enters the packing area. This enhances the scrubber efficiency by removing muck and solids that may otherwise clog the packing material prematurely. At the exit is a combination chevron/mesh pad to capture any particulate 14 micron or larger.

Diaphragm Valve for Water Adjustment

Some scrubbers use ordinary PVC rotary or ball valve thus trimming of the recirculation system is unreliable and difficult. We use the more expensive diaphragm valve for better trimming accuracy for liquid under pressure like the scrubber recirculation system.

In-Line Wye-Strainer to Improve Nozzle Performance

Our easily removable and clear union type in-line wye strainer allows for visibility so you can see if the recirculation system is clogged prior to the scrubber liquor headers. Hand tighten connection will easily allow its removal, cleaning and reinstallation

Magnehelic Pressure Differential Gauge

The magnehelic pressure differential gauge will allow you to establish a clean scrubber benchmark then determine when the scrubber needs cleaning. Most scrubber do not have this as standard equipment.

Easily Removable CPVC Chemical Resistant Re-circulation Pump

Our field tested CPVC chemical resistant pump is more reliable and durable a stainless SS316L or chemical resistant Air Operated Diaphragm (AOD) pump. With sealing properties that minimize/eliminate contact of aggressive acids or alkaline into its moving parts, it provides years of longer service life than AODs where its rubber diaphragm cracks and breaks or CRN pumps with seals breaking. Our pump is also self-priming and can run dry allowing for more trouble free operation

Helical or Open-Orifice Spray Nozzles... Non Clogging

Some scrubbers do not use spray jets but instead only have drilled holes on its pipe header. Drilled holes do not provide large sprays thus affects the scrubber performance. They also clog easily when slurry is present in the scrubber liquor. Clogged spray will not only reduce scrubber performance but also exert stress on the recirculation pump which may result to its premature failure due to higher operating pressure. A normally non-clogging pig-tail helical open orifice that provides more than 120 degree of spray not only increase the scrubber removal performance but also helps increase the life of the pump.

Excellent Packing Material

We use a special engineered packing material that provides significantly lower pressure drop and higher mass transfer efficiency and increased contact surface area. It resists fouling and minimize clogging with high flow capacity.

Spring-Type Vibration Isolators

The spring isolators work to reduce noise, shock, and vibration to protect the scrubber body and blower from unwanted vibrations that may cause premature material failure.

NEMA 3R Electrical Control Panel

We provide as standard a NEMA3R wall or free-standing electrical panel with wye-delta or direct starting motor control. Optional is the use of a Variable Frequency Drive for motor control/starting.

Optional pH Neutralization/ Chemical Injection System

To enhance the scrubber treatment performance, an optional pH Neutralization/ Chemical Injection System might be necessary. This can be a manual or automatic system depending on customer preference. It becomes necessary when exhaust air is less than desirable.

In-Line Flow Meter to Save Water

The inline flow meter allows the accurate monitoring and control of water supply for make-up and recirculation. The customer can determine the exact volume of make-up water and removes guessing allowing for savings.
